Due Date

Today was our given due date to hopefully meet our little one. As with life, things don't always happen as planned.......
40 weeks 2-7-14
We went to the doctor this afternoon to get an ultrasound & discuss what the next steps could possibly be in our pregnancy journey. Everything went smoothly during the ultrasound-we got to see baby moving, see the measurements, but gender is still a surprise :) Baby was in good position-head down, but high. The heartbeat was 131 and the approximate weight of baby is 8lbs.15 oz. (it could be a pound either way). I've already told Blake I blame him for the big baby factor-as a twin he was an 7lbs. baby and myself I was a 6lbs baby. Based on the size of our baby, how my body is progressing, and reaching the due date- the doctor is suggesting having a c-section. It doesn't seem like my body wants to let this baby come out or that baby is able to come down. They gave us the option to wait to see if my body will go into labor on it's own, but from what they have seen so far it doesn't seem likely. With this and baby only getting bigger we have decided to go ahead with a c-section delivery this upcoming week. We will have this weekend to go with whatever happens, but the arrival is coming!

For myself, I'm not quite sure how I feel about it......mixture of emotions. I am excited to know that we will be meeting baby on _________, but also disappointed that my body isn't doing what it should. One of my first questions to Blake was , "How do you feel about knowing we won't go through labor?" I know c-section is always an option/possibility in any delivery......I was wanting to go into the hospital with an open mind of whatever could happen let's go with what is best-all options available. My overall thoughts/feelings during pregnancy is just wanting everything to go as well as it can, enjoy the experience, and hope we are all healthy throughout.

We will be welcoming Baby Marlowe this week......stay tuned to see baby's stats!
