A Week in Review

We cannot believe that Olivia is 1 week old!
No, I won't make a post each week.....I thought the first week was a big accomplishment, mostly by us. We made it :) Actually it is quite interesting how normal our new normal feels. The days go by so quickly-we live feeding by feeding. The time between goes fast-you really see how much you can fit in (eating, sleeping, cleaning, responding to family & friends-thanks for being patient).
1 week old-thanks great aunt Jenny for the cute fish outfit
In the first week we made our first trip out-to the doctor! Olivia did a wonderful job. Basically this first appointment was to check her weight gain from when she left the hospital. Thankfully she is gaining weight as she should. She had lost quite a bit due to stay in the NICU and not being able to feed. She left the hospital weighing 7 lbs. 15oz. At the doctor's she weight 8 lbs. 7 oz. By next week the goal is to have her back up to her birth weight of 8 lbs. 10 oz. Her feeding is still supplemented because I lost some time feeding her in the hospital and I'm pumping like a mad women to hopefully get my milk supply up to her needs. Blake has been enjoying helping supplement because he gets to bottle feed and be a huge part in her day.

Some of Olivia's favorite things of the week include:
Snuggling with mom or dad
Feeding, she is working hard to put the weight back on
Waking up mom & dad during the night
Leaving surprises in her diapers-mostly changed by daddy
Letting her doggies sniff at her feet
Hanging out in her mommaroo
Sleeping in the rock 'n play during the night-I sleep for 3-4 hours at time already
Being home!

We also got meals from some supportive friends-so mommy & daddy can spend their time with me

Stay tuned as we continue to adjust to parenthood & share our big moments.....
