9 Months and Look Who's Talking

No, she isn't talking yet in words, but she definitely has a lot to say. I love hearing her babble and develop language. She is a girl fully of confidence and independence. She knows what she likes, where she wants to go, and figures out how to get there and get what she wants.

Don't worry I'm tough, I can handle myself
You should have seen the other guy.....Olivia and another little one at daycare were playing together and the other child whacked at her leaving a mark. They both wanted the same toy, thankfully Olivia handled it very well from what we hear-just a few surprised tears.

A few random Halloween pictures. She looks adorable in her jammies and of course her mommy loves her!

I can't get enough of letting her nap while I hold her on the weekends, does this play into her not napping well at daycare? I'm sure it does somewhat, but I'm not willing to give it up yet and I know she needs to sleep so while I can I am taking full advantage. Plus she continues to be content throughout the day and sleeps well as night so.......

 Helping mom clean
Olivia enjoys feeling the air blow through her hair. She followed me around as I vacuumed the house so she could stand by the blow out of the vacuum, Blake had to keep coming over to move her away. She seemed to have a lot of fun.

Go State!
A little shopping trip with the girls. It was a long day of shopping!

Having some fun
Olivia enjoys her books, she just decided to get ALL of them out. We are working on the picking up after yourself.

She figured out that it's fun to play under the dining room table while Mom & Dad make dinner.

Extra snuggles, yes please! Feeling sick, no thanks!
Little one was sick so Blake and I each took 1 day off each to stay home with her. I took her to the doctor where we found out that she is on her 3rd ear infection of the year. We continue to struggle getting her to take the medicine, but we do our best. She again amazes me as she is not fussy even though I know she doesn't feel well. As she hasn't been feeling well, she has wanted her pacifier-she hasn't been one to use it ever. We do love the extra snuggles!

Look out world!
Olivia has been practicing standing on her own quite a bit, very soon I'm sure we will have a walker on our hands.  So far she has only face planted once....I'm guessing with her willingness to let go we will have a few more of these instances before she becomes confident and stable.

Stay tuned.....I'm getting ready to walk!

Our Little Pumpkin

This past weekend we decided to get our pumpkins ready for Halloween. I made some edible paint so she could participate and decorate her own. She dug right in as I opened up the paint. Of course it went immediately into her mouth and she figured out it that it didn't taste the best even though it was edible. She also enjoyed squishing the guts of the pumpkin and letting the seeds slip through her fingers as I tried to get them away from her.

I'm not afraid to get a little dirty!

She also visited the grandparents & cousins up in Boone to do her trick or treating. She got some cheerios.

She was such a sweet little kitty.

Stay tuned this little girl has so many experiences to come....

Moving and a Shakin

Our little girl is on the move and there is NO stopping her!

It definitely makes taking pictures much more interesting. Also we canNOT take our eyes off of her. She sees something and she is off to get it.

We have started a weekend ritual to eat breakfast at Hy-Vee and do our grocery shopping, we're becoming quite the regulars!

She loves watching all the people.

We have quite the little shopper. She charms the other shoppers.

She has begun enjoying eat all sorts of vegetables and fruits as well as puffs now. Occasionally she will get an apple slice to chew on or bits of banana. Dinner time is becoming a fun time for our family.

Don't get between a girl and her puffs. She is really improving on her pincer grasp and coordination of getting food into her mouth.

We tried out our new jacket and winter gear as it was a bit chilly. She wasn't digging the walk that day. I really miss our daily walks-it just hasn't fit into our routine yet.

Happy 8 months Miss Olivia, we love you more each day!!!!

We didn't make it to the patch, but we did pick up some pumpkins to display on our front step. Olivia was very curious.

Stay tuned.....our little munchkin is growing up!

Family Love

We decided to invite the cousin's to join us on an adventure at the Ledges....we hiked, had a picnic, and the big kiddos played in the water. It was a wonderful day-I see many more days of hanging out at the Ledges in the future.
Also right before we were expecting Olivia we took family pictures, so we needed to update them-the Ledges provided a perfect back drop. The kids gave us their all, but some days are better for pictures-they just wanted to play.

 Picnic at the Ledges

All business and no play.....nope just talking to the grandparents. Olivia will be a pro at skype in no time. She is looking forward to their visit in November!

My sister and I participated in the Susan Komen Race for the Cure in memory of our grandma. Olivia & Blake cheered us on despite the cold.

We have a mover!
Her big accomplishments are: crawling and freestanding all by herself for about 3 seconds. I'm sure she will have this new skill down in no time!
This little girl is so special.....stay tuned as she continues to learn.
