Ben's Baptism

It was a wonderful weekend celebrating Ben's baptism with both sides of the family. It was a especially nice thing that the got to wear the same baptismal outfit that Blake was baptized in as a baby. The priest's booming voice kept scaring him throughout Mass.

My first week back to work, he got to spend the time with Blake, Grammy, Pop, and Great Grandma Helga. It has been an adjustment going back to work.

This little man is so smiley-it lights up the room.

Thankful for good food and good company. It's always a treat when we get to spend time with family over the holidays. We had a little mishap with the turkey fryer and got the food to the table only 2 hours late, but it was delicious.

Halloween

Fall is my favorite time and there doesn't seem to be enough time to get in all the activities....this year the kiddos were animals (Koala and Monkey), I have a feeling this is the last year I get to choose Olivia's costume (buy it on sale from the year before). She has some strong opinions-that we love most of the time. I am interested to see what she will choose. She is really into Halloween this year, she gets to wear decorative shirts this month and loves them. Each time, "We go trick or treat" "It's Halloween" She is so excited to get candy. She asks for it alllll the time. "I want candy".
We went to Hy-Vee, she got to warm up her trick or treating skills, decorate a cookie, and color a pumpkin. She did one for Ben too. Then we headed up to Boone for round 2. We went trunk or treating in Boone at a church with the Chesnuts and made the rounds to grandparents and great grandparents. Finally, we ended our trick or treating with another trunk or treat in Adel with our neighbors. Liv was an expert trick or treator, she was on a mission each time going right up for the candy. She remembered her manners and told them thank you and happy halloween, it was adorable.

The end of October, means I only have 1 week left at home with Ben Boy. He really is a happy little man and I hope he adjusts to daycare well. I hope daycare is a good experience for both kiddos. It is hard trusting and putting them into other people's care as it is such an important time of development in their lives and no one loves your kids as much as you do. Not to say I didn't enjoy maternity leave last time (new mom-just trying to figure things out), but this time I felt more relaxed and got to enjoy it more. Both times I know I will be sad to leave my kids for all day. I get to pick Liv up early from daycare so I really got more time with both kids.
10/16/16 first all nighter in his room. He continues to sleep in his room and has longer stretches some nights. His new skills include, rolling over sometimes from front to back and scotting all over on his back from wiggling.
