Getting in the groove

Lunch with Dad-these look better on me Dad.
I'm just way too cool.

Don't worry I got it.

She has started to take bottles better at daycare. She is also very interested in eating her baby food while there. The head teachers let us know that she is a happy little girl and has started interacting with the other little ones.

We had a busy weekend-painting our bedroom and reading a lot of books. She tried reading on her own.

And read some with her cousins too!

Olivia didn't feel well over the weekend- we're thinking teething, a cold, or a mixture of both. She has a runny nose and goopy eyes. Hoping she starts feeling better soon. It is soo hard seeing her not at her best. Blake and I both wish we could be sick for her.

Stay tuned......6 month check up this week!

Letting Go

She even let me get a picture in the morning-Kids Korner 2
It was a bit of an emotional week....ok, it was for me. I was even more nervous of her beginning daycare because over the weekend she developed her first runny nose-thinking it's due to teething. She was soo stuffed up. Olivia began daycare on Monday. That means I started getting sad on Sunday as reality set in . Blake did drop off in the morning and I picked her up. I couldn't wait until the end of the day so I could go get her! She did well for her first day of course. She was a happy little one that evening.....she didn't eat/sleep like she usually does during the day, but I would call day 1 a success. It definitely gives me a reason to leave work on time-I enjoy her snuggles so much.

The rest of the week went just as well. Each day she  started eating a bit more....naps were a hit and miss. I'm guessing it will take some time to adjust, but overall so far the experience is going smoothly.
End of the week, heading off to daycare
1st selfie

 She is such a sweetheart

She loves tags....they seem to be more fun than the actual toy. She is also really into teething rings right now.

Over the weekend we took a trip up to Boone for family pictures. We had Creative Cousins take Olivia's 6 month pictures as well as a family picture.  As usual, when you have pictures scheduled the little one doesn't feel well. Even though she wasn't on top of her game Olivia was a champ and humored me. She wasn't as smiley as usual, but I am super excited to get them back.

Stay tuned.....family photos to come!

So long summer...

6 months

Some things she is loving right now:

1. Tags on everything, they're so much more fun than toys
2. Chewing on everything...teething toys are the best
3. Swimming, she seems to enjoy splashing & has started doing it during bath time as well
4. Daily walks in the morning in the Bjorn-these will have to be reserved just fore the weekend now.
5. Shreeking/making raspberries- loving the sound of her own voice. She is such a little talker. We are excited to hear her first words.
6. Watching the dogs or pulling on them, if they dare to get close enough

Swim Lessons

Each lesson she seemed to be enjoy being in the pool more. She enjoyed standing on the step and bouncing, splashing her hands, kicking her legs, and blowing bubbles (trying to drink the water). Blake and I both took turns to be in the water with her. It was been quite exciting to sing songs and play with her in the water. I think we have a little fishy on our hands.

It was great seeing my high school friend Cara and her new little one, Hazel.

Another big thing that happened this month was I had to go back to work, which means Olivia started daycare. Both Blake and I visited the daycare with Olivia before she started, just to help transition her to a new place and get to know the staff. I was lucky that Blake took off the first day so I could adjust to being away from her for a day without the worry of someone new taking care of her. He is also the drop off person in the morning and I will pick her up. It is wonderful that we can share the duties and the daycare will know the both of us.

Stay tuned....more adventures to come!

Mixing it up

Check out this cutie!

Finally some art on her walls and the nursery is finished- ok, almost. We need to find a way to organize her books then we will be done.

Playtime, she is getting more interested in all her toys.

Making some needed phone calls- a little glimpse into the future, maybe???

 More fun, getting grabby!

Dad or Dog....I'll put my hands in either mouth

Stay tuned....much more fun to come!
