Week 6

Olivia continues to bring joy to us daily. She definitely is growing & doing new things. We love talking to her & seeing her smile. She follows our voices and faces. She also has started noticing that when reaching or swinging her arms under her play mat that things move......she surprises herself each time. She enjoys listening to our voices as we read books to her. One of her favorites (with daddy) is Barnyard Dance. We also attend a BF group weekly to meet with other moms & check Olivia's weight....this week she is a whopping 11 3.4 oz. BF continues to be an uphill battle, but we are continuing to work at it.

Week 5 brought many firsts.....

• The first time Olivia has to be on medicine-she got an infection in her eye, but she does great with the eye drops (guessing it's from her sticking her fingers in her eyes, she always has to have her hands up by her face)
• Olivia & I went out by ourselves (to the doctor & breastfeeding group)
• I went to a baby shower on my own/Blake & Olivia were on there own for about 2 hours
• Olivia slept for 5 hours during the night (2 times!!)

She continues to amaze us in so many ways. She is continuing to change & learn new things each day. We love seeing her react to us while we are talking or moving around her. She tracks where we are, smiles at us-along with some other facial expression (furrowing her brow, wondering what are my crazy parents doings/saying), moves her legs & arms like crazy-especially while on the play mat to make the toys move, and is cooing and grunting like crazy. We are so blessed to have a fantastic little one. She is a happy baby who has put us on a great schedule so far. We just follow her lead.

Tummy time- each day we practice, not a huge fan of this yet-but getting more used to it.

1 Month

Where has the time gone!

So many changes have taken place in the first month.....it's crazy how the time has flown by. She is growing up way too fast.

We took our first real bath after her umbilical cord finally fell off! Olivia wasn't a huge fan, but did great. I think she will learn to enjoy & have fun during bath time as she gets used to it. Also as Mommmy & Daddy get better at giving them.

We also had our first play date with Shay-the daughter of Blake's good friend. 

She also enjoyed a visit from her cousins- Avery, Sam, & Will. She can't wait to play with them!

And a visit from her Granddad Bill & Uncle Billy.

Some of her favorites include: eating, snuggling, walking laps with dad, swinging, making noise so she can hear her voice, giggling, and hanging out on her changing table.
